Trust In The Lord - Proverbs 3:5,6

Trust in the Lord with all your hear and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways ackowledge him, and he will make your path straight. (NIV)

Snowflakes and Geese

One day this week it snowed very nicely and peacefully. As my children and I walked to school in the morning we were trying to catch some snowflakes on our tonuges, except that it really does not work. We enjoyed the walk and the beauty of it all. It was also so joyful. Once at the school, suddenly we heard some Canadian Geese flying above and coming in our direction, but it was not south they were flying, it was east. I believe that will be the last batch of geese I will see till spring, cause the ponds are frozen, especially after today with a -15 temperature in the morning. Canadian Geese are beautiful and wonderfully made by God. The day was beautiful with the snow.

Flowers & Rain

SPRING--The weather has sure been very nice this spring. I have enjoyed Spring this year and can hardly even been at the computer or inside because of the nice weather. Now it is the long-weekend and it is a cool weekend, but that did not stop me from planting the garden and the flowers. I am looking forward to seeing the garden grow and the flowers blossom. Planted another Hosta in the flower bed next to the house where I get a lot of shade. Spring is wonderful with all the leaves coming out and the tulips showing up. Then there is also the rain in Spring that makes the grass and the leaves look greener, plus refreshing. Spring reminds me of the song How Great Thou Art, because of God's creation of the World. Spring time makes me want to Praise and Worship the Lord Almighty; and be outdoors.

I may only be back at the end of summer, so enjoy Spring and Summer and Glorify God in the things you do during that time. If I am back before that it might be on a rainy day or hot day when one wants to be inside where it can be cool with AC.
Enjoy the wonderful weather God gives us, God Bless.

The Old Rugged Cross

At Easter time there are so many hymns that I like to sing about my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and one of those is the Old Rugged Cross. My pastor gave a message on this hymn a couple of weeks ago. He gave four points of misconceptions at odds with "The Cross". It was interesting to hear a message on this. The key thought was: The Old Rugged Cross opposes every natural inclination of ours, yet when accepted, set us free. The song is not just a nice song. Lets remember what Jesus Christ did on the cross for us.

On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross, The emblem of suffring and shame; And I love that Old cross where the dearest and best for a world of lost sinners was slain.(first verse in song)

In the old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine, A wondrous beauty I see; For twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died to pardon and sanctify me.(third verse)

So I'll cherish the old rugged cross, Till my trophies at last I lay down; I will cling to the old rugged cross, and exchange it some day for a crown.(Chorus)

I am always moved when I sing this song and other songs about Jesus shedding his blood for my sins. I thank the Lord that He is part of my life and through Him I am sanctified.

Swimming Day

Seeing that this week is Spring Break I figured to treat my children to something special during the week. Today being that day. We went to the closest mall to us to check out a store that the children have been wanting to see. It being called Build A Bear Worshop. They enjoyed looking at everything and knew that I was not about to buy one for them. Maybe someday. After that we went and had lunch at the food court which was another treat plus checked out other stores. Then it was off to the Swimming Pool. The children enjoyed themselves and so did I till I felt the air above me being to cold. We did spend a little time in the hot tub which the children enjoyed as well, cause it was so nice and warm. Swimming today was very relaxing and time well spent with my children away from home. After our time at the pool we went home so I could get some supper ready before picking up my husband from work. By the time the children went to bed all of us where tired. My daughter said "I had the most wonderful day of my life today", when I kissed her good night, which I do believe she did have. We are thankful today that the weather we had was not as bad as it was expected first thing in the morning, but had a blessed day in the things we did.

Boot Prints in the Snow

I recall some days in February when it snowed during the day while the children were at school I was at home for the day doing some of my household tasks and my family project whiled it snowed. I watched it snow throughout the day. The Mailman came and went while it snowed. I saw his boot prints in the snow after he left my house, but they were gone in matter of time. It still continues to snow throughout the day that by the time I have to leave to get my children from School there was about an inch or more of snow. Enough that I needed to shovel the walk. When I stepped out of my yeard and onto the sidewalk I notice that there were no prints in the snow. Nobody had been out along the sidewalk. As I continue to walk and look back I noticed only my boot prints in the snow. Oh, how beautiful the path looks before me, the snow not disturbed, just a blanket of white. It seemed to be a shame to be putting boot prints in the snow. It looked so beautiful. Once I had my children and we were walking home oh, how I saw many boot prints in the snow. (People go in many ways in life, just like these boot prints do.) Now as the snow is melting there are lots of puddels and no more boot prints in the snow.
My version of how I saw snow along a path to walk in the Winter.

NOT A SUPERMOM

JUST A HOMEMAKER that enjoys the things a Mom should do when being at home. I have not regreted being a Stay At Home Mom. I have gotten to see all the first things with my children and was there when they needed a hug or the comfort they needed at the time.
The reasons I enjoy being a Homemaker is becasue I ENJOY the baking, cooking, cleaning the house and doing the laundry. Then there is also the sewing I ENJOY. The enjoyment is seeing the garment coming into shape of what it should look like and also providing the clothing for my family. I don't entirely see myself as a Wife of Noble Character in Proverbs 31:10-31, because I don't get up early to make my husband breakfeast or get his lunch ready. But the only thing I see in verse 15 that I do is to make sure meals are made, and other foods are available.
On the Spiritual side I try and do my best to teach my children the Chrisitan values the Bible teaches and I honour my husband.
There was one day I told my daughter what I was going to do during the day and she replied "that sounds like a busy day," and I figured what a cute remark.
I also like to be organized with some of the things I do in my household. Some days I might have a lot of things to do and then other days not much. Those days when I have lots to do and get to it all, I am exhausted by the end of the day (is this a supermom?) I think of it as, those things required my attention that day and needed to be done. Another reason why I enjoy being a homemaker is because of what I saw in the home I grew up in. My Mom was at home and I guess she showed me the things that a Mom did. I often did work next to her with some things, so I guess I am just continuing this on in my household. It also gave me a security that I was loved and cared for. So therefore I am wanting to give that same security to my children especially in this day and time when society is protraing that Mom's can have a career and be a Mom. Mom's miss out a lot when they have a career, cause they may not have that time in the evenings to spend the time with their children. If I did have a job during the day, when would I do my baking, cooking, cleaning or even sew for that matter, I would not, cause there would hardly be any time for all that plus spending quality time with my children. I have never been eager to have a career, just wanting to be a helping hand to those that need help. My priority is my family first. May God Bless you if you are a Mom who is at home. Our Children Need Us.

I'm Back

Hello, I am back, but not a regular basis. I have been busy with my children and working on my family project which is on going. I am not a writer, cause words just don't come to me of what I sometimes want to say and I can not express the words enough like some writers can. There are people that are gifted with writing and I am not one of those. My hat is off to those that can write and enjoy blogging lots. There will be times I will have something to say. I guess my motto is if you can't say something nice don't say it(the golden rule).

A Day of Delight

Psalm 16
David is this Psalm is delighting in the Lord. It is great to know of this scripture cause each day we can delight in the Lord in whatever circumstances.
David delights also in the Lord's people(v.3); delights in God's providence(vv. 5,6);and in God's pleasures.
Live on God's path, live in His presence and live for His pleasures. The key to delighting in the things of God is to delight in God Himself.

Know Why You Believe

I choice this topic today because it has been on my heart since yesterday. With the topic that is being discussed in the sunday school class my husband and I are attending is quite interesting and a friend of mine mentioned about raising our children to know why we believe. The subject matter in this sunday school class does not completely comply to this comment, but it got me thinking that yes we need to teach our children early enough that they will know why we believe that God's Word is the truth. The reason being is that once they are in College or University that they will be able to defend their faith and explain why. This is important for me as a parent even if my children are young. I want them to know that what the Bible teaches is what we should be living and why. There are teachings in the Bible that are strait forward. The book of Ephesians is a good example. It is very practical. May all Jesus Followers stand up for Jesus and be soliders of the Cross.

Reading

Here is a cute story about my daughter. This week my daughter got tested by her teacher with the reading and has now been moved ahead in the batch of books she is to read. Well with that move my daughter brought home a Franklin story book which was kind of lengthy in my view. When it came time to read the book to me she asked if she had to read it all and I said yes. Well her comment was "my lips will get tired". She did not want to read the whole book cause it was kind of long for her, but she did get through it and at the end I asked her, "well did your lips fall off" and I got a answer "no!". My daughter has really progressed in her reading with being in grade one. If she is going to read lots I would not be surprised, seeing that her own parents read a lot. May we all encourage our children to read and even become book worms, and may The Bible be one book that they will always continue reading throughout their lives.

Cooperation and Soverignty

Yesterday evening my son asked me if I was going to come and watch the kids at school in the morning, but he could not remember the word that he was referring to. So I asked him do you mean assembly and yes that was the word. Well I did not know nothing about this assembly because no note came home about it, so of course I had to rethink of how to work out the things I had planned for today. This assembly at school included my son's grade 2 class performing a skit with the grade 5 class on the social goal cooperation. They did an excellent job on explaining how cooperation should be shown. One boy in particular was so cute after his little group did their skit and bowed and blew kisses to the audience.

In todays devotion reading I read Psalm 8 and the first verse is a faviorte of mine because it is part of a song that I like. But what struck me the most about this devotion today that I would never have thought of was that this Psalm deals with sovereignty. " When God saved you, He made you a King. You may not look like one or act like one, but you are one. Your day of salvation was a day of coronation. God put you on the throne through Jesus Christ. Believers have a responsibility to live like Kings. Our kingship securely rests on the authority and character of God. Determine to live like a King." This is from the devotion by Waren Wiersbe.
What I was amazed about was that I am a King through Jesus Christ and I sure do not feel worthy of this position. I do not deserve the position because of being a sinner, but Jesus died on the cross for me and only because of His shed blood do I deserve His grace.

May you be blessed with God's word today in your devotions with Him.

What is Wealth?

Today as we went shopping for just little things and knowing we had to stay within the amount that we had on us I thought of a verse I kept always true to myself. This verse is from Hebrews 13:5. Let your character be free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, "I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you." Since I had my first job, which was when I was still in high school, till now money has never been an issue that I have to have it to be wealthy. God has always looked after my needs and He has always provided no matter how tight I/we have been financially. I believe it builds character when you have to trust in the Lord in everything. I am thankful the Lord looks after our needs. Plus it also makes me more content in what I do have. We are to build our riches up in the Lord not on earthly things. Set your mind on things above, not on the things that are on earth. Colossians 3:2

Blessings in Trials

This morning I read a devotion that I received through my email and was blessed on how God blesses us in our trials. The title of the devotion was Rest in the Midst of Trials. Scripture reference is Psalm 4. I will give some points on what I read.
God cares for us and gives us several blessings in the midst of our trials.
1. He gives us the blessings of enlargement vr. 1.
2. God gives us the blessing of encouragement vr.2,3.
3. God gives us the blessing of enablement vr.4,5.
4. God gives us the blessings of enlightenment and enjoyment vr.6-8.
God's blessings are designed to do more than simply confort us in our difficulties; they are to help us grow. Take strength from knowing that God is weaving His purposes into your life and that He will reward your trust in Him.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 NIV

From this I know that some of my difficulties in life that God is helping me to grow from them and to trust in Him in everything. May you be blessed as well from this passage.

Friday - Skating

Todays post will be a memory from my childhood. As I thought of having taken my children skating yesterday, I remembered my memories of when I went skating as a child. I went skating every Friday evening(if it worked for my parents), but I do remember spending a lot of time at the ice rink on a Friday. Living close to a small town with an indoor ice rink that had pleasure skating every Friday and Sunday; plus having the chance to be with some friends I took the chose to go skating. I still enjoy skating which is a healthy thing. I had to pay to get in to skate, which sometimes I believe was hard for me if there was not the money for it. I remember skating with friends from town or anyone that did come into town for skating. Once I tried to do some sort of flip and I hit my head on the ice which hurt a lot. I was ok. Then there was doing the crack the whip with a scarf, which can be dangerous, which I am glad no one ever got hurt. With enjoying skating there was even a skate-a-thon, where you had to be on the ice for 12 or 24 hours. I did one skate-a-thon and stayed on the ice for 12 hours, which I have prof for, cause I got a trophy for it. My brother who was 9 years older then me did the skate-a-thong four different years, which got him four trophies. Now that my brother is with the Lord (which has been 28 years ago), I still have one of those trophies to remember him by. Now as an adult and still enjoying skating I have even gotten into watching every figure skating program that I can possible watch. Plus now as a mother I can also watch my children skate and enjoy the sport. Fridays in my mind will always be one of memories skating or spending time with friends in the winter. May you have a sport or event that will hold a lot of memories for you and may you be blessed from them, as I am with this memory. God Bless.

Meditation

Be still, and know that I am God;... Psalm 46:10

When I was contemplating just a while ago what to blog I thought of Meditation, cause that is what I want to do this year is to meditate on how Jesus spent His time with His Heavenly Father. I plan of studying different portions of the Bible and just compile what ways one can meditate and how one can walk closer with Jesus Chirst. This was before I read Darlene's blog and realized oh, my thoughts were the same as hers, how interesting. Part of this study for me has been on some of the devotions I have been readhing lately and I figured that yes, I need to get closer with Jesus and walk with Him. I have always had a Love for God's word and to walk with my personal savior Jesus Christ. With having children I have found that one just does not have all the time in the world to seat and to study, and that now my children are a little older and I have time during the day while they are at school I now can use some of that time to study and to become maybe a better person in Christ. May I not lose sight in keeping this up throughout the year, cause it can be a very much growing process in my walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. May those of us that what to improve things in our lives not to drop them, but to work at it throughout the year. We can start any time. God Bless.
